Presenting Issue: Difficulty expressing needs or emotions & escalating conflicts or arguments

“This Couple” had been together for over a decade. Lately, they found themselves drifting apart, communication had become tense, arguments more frequent, and both felt unseen in the relationship. They reached out for couples therapy unsure if things could improve, but both still cared deeply for one another.

Initial Session

In our early work, we focused on creating a safe, neutral space where each partner could speak and feel heard, without interruption or blame. Through structured conversations, they began to identify recurring patterns in their arguments and the unmet needs driving them.

Progress and outcome

Over time, (This Couple) developed a more compassionate understanding of each other. They learned practical communication tools, stopped “fighting to win,” and started working as a team again. By their final sessions, both felt more connected, supported, and optimistic about their future together.

“We came in feeling stuck. Therapy helped us slow down, really hear each other, and start rebuilding what we thought we had lost.”
